Are you so busy trying to fight your own battles that you have forgotten who is our real Contender?
The Lord God is not just the Sovereign King of the Universe- among his many attributes are:
Lord of the Armies (often translated as Lord of “Hosts”- Adonai Tzva’ot), Advocate, Shield and Buckler,
El Shaddai (an acronym) for Guardian of the Doors of Israel…Refuge…Mighty Warrior…
He makes us more than conquerors; not through ourselves or our own efforts, but rather through Him who loves us!
Consider some of the situations the children of Israel faced- facing Pharoah and the armies of Egypt, Gideon v. the Midianites …and so many other examples. God Almighty is our Contender, but it is up to each of us to fall back- into the arms of a loving all powerful Contending Father who declares and promises to make footstools our of those people and things that would oppress us.
