Expectations

“A man’s heart plans his way,

But the Lord directs his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9

“Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Romans 4:3

Ah…expectations. They can bring hope, and then delight, if they come to fruition as expected, but what happens when things don’t work out the way the “expecter” thought?
Disappointment, frustration, bitterness can come flooding in-if we do not have the right perspective.
How should we face those “changes” in plans? When expectations are not met the way we think things should happen,
does it mean God has turned His back on us, that He doesn’t see or care about us?
No, I would submit to you, just the opposite: God is in every single plan.
Let us not forget His enormity, majesty, and the enduring fact that He loves us furiously.
He is the King of the Universe, the God of every detail, small large and in between.
So beloved, believe God and be prepared to position ourselves spiritually, shored up by faith, thanksgiving, and joy…
stretch the “tent pegs” of your expectations and thus be enabled to experience the greater plans God has for us-
instead of our own.
